Fertilizer Innovation Challenge

Environmentally friendly thiosulfates are becoming increasingly popular agricultural fertilizers because they not only provide sulfur in a plant-accessible form but they are also known to have nitrogen stabilizing properties.  Ammonium thiosulfate (ATS) is a popular choice since it provides nitrogen in addition to sulfur but while pure ammonium thiosulfate is a dry crystalline solid, commercial scale production of ATS results in an aqueous solution that contains approximately 40% water. ATS is not easily combined with solid nitrogen containing fertilizers and the Seeker desires an innovative way to economically combine ATS with urea/ammonium containing solid fertilizers to produce a final product that can be applied using standard solid fertilizer based equipment.
